DYSENTERY DEJECTION CHRYSALIS

RELEASE: NOV 7TH 2025

COMATOSE MUSIC

Genre: Brutal/Slam Death Metal

FFO: Putrid Pile | Internal Bleeding | Guttural Secrete | Pyrexia

GRIMGASM RATING:

8/10 DEAD SKULLS

The breakdown of the psychological framework is essential for Dysentery's latest sonic assault. Their fourth full-length album, Dejection Chrysalis, emerges after a decade-long hiatus that was a strategic period of building pressure, rather than simple inactivity. The resulting sound moves faster than the senses can process, presenting an unyielding series of devastating slams. The album's initial track, ‘Transference,’ serves not as an introduction but as a necessary neurosurgical prelude, intentionally beginning the listener's transformation and setting the internal rhythm for the destructive onslaught. The immediate focal point is ‘Enslavement For The Obedient, Agony For The Wayward,’ characterized by its massive, self-referential guitar layers and a core of unavoidable, primal polyrhythms.

The album maintains an aggressive path throughout its duration. ‘Exhausted Bliss Of Self Loathing’ intensifies with uncompromising blast-beat delivery and riffs that strike with the force of heavy industrial machinery, strengthened by the intense vocal contribution from guest Josh Welshman. The immense scale of ‘A Bestial Omen’ simulates a sense of overwhelming powerlessness, with the colossal sound overshadowing and manipulating the delicate human form like a toy of an indifferent, blind deity. From the precise artillery of ‘Fratricidium’ to the sheer, ultimate ferocity captured in ‘Ascend This Harrowing Dream,’ Dejection Chrysalis accomplishes more than mere brutality; it is a masterpiece of musical extremity marked by unmatched force and a strategic dynamic presence that places Dysentery at the pinnacle of the genre.
